Foster Yancey and Brad Camp founded Yancey - Camp Nursery. While involved in home building and real estate development, these Dallas businessmen recognized the need for high quality plant material for their own ventures. Their vision became a reality with the opening of Yancey-Camp Nursery in 1981.

The name has since changed to Y-C Nurseries, Inc. The original Reeder Road site is still the main hub of the business. The first greenhouse built at this site is approximately 30,000 square feet and is still in use today. A second location was built in 2002 in Prosper, Texas. This location has state of the art, open roof Dutch greenhouses, robotic planting machines, and other modern greenhouse equipment, which are in use today.

Y-C Nurseries manages over 275,000 square feet of growing space in their Dallas, Prosper and three other growing facilities. Over 10 million annuals, plus a line of groundcover items are produced every year for the local DFW landscape market.
